USS Ronald Reagan Crew visits Pavia

June 21, 2009 is a red-letter day for Pavianhons, as they commemorate the onslaught of Typhoon “Frank” and remembering the victims of the worst calamity that ever happened in their town.

Various activities were lined-up for that day which includes a synchronized Paraliturgy Celebration at Aganan and Tigum Bridges. Pavianhons from all walks of life then proceeded to the church for a Slideshow Presentation, entitled PAVIA… BEFORE, DURING AND ONE YEAR AFTER TYPHOON “FRANK”, which was prepared by the Pavia MIS Team with the help of Mr. Ramy P. Madero. A holy mass was then celebrated by Fr. Nash Gonzales.

At about 9:00 am, eighteen (18) crewmembers from aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN76) arrived at the Pavia National High School Campus for their civic activites.

The visit is a homecoming of sorts for Ronald Reagan Sailor Petty Officer Grace Geroche, a true-blue Pavianhon and a 2002 PNHS graduate.

Geroche was one of the sailors who worked on the renovation project at her former high school.

After the completion of the project, the sailors flew back to USS Ronald Reagan and continue their scheduled Western Pacific/Indian Ocean deployment.
